While the TRX System looks simple, its patent-pending suspension design uses bodyweight and laws of physics to create a hundreds of exercise progressions virtually unlimited levels of resistance.

 Beginners to Elite Athletes Every exercise on the TRX System can be geared for a beginner or an expert. The following 3 principals demonstrate how exercise can be made more difficult by increasing resistance and decreasing stability.

Vector Resistance employs gravity and simple geometry to convert the user’s own body mass into weight experienced as resistance. At the most practical level, this means that the more you lean your body onto the TRX System, the greater the difficulty of each exercise. With the TRX System’s Vector Resistance technology, users can adjust the difficulty of any exercise simply moving the position of their arms, feet or body angle, instead of needing to change the pin or reach for another set of dumbbells.


Stability Principal. Reducing the body's base of support and center of gravity can dramatically affect an exercise's intensity. The following example shows, even with a constant working angle, the difficulty of a chest press can be increased by varying degrees from easier to most difficult. Positioning the free leg outside the body's base of support requires greater engagement of the core's stabilizing muscles.

Pendulum Principal affects all floor based exercises where the majority of the body's weight is transferred to the hands or feet suspended in the system. Starting the exercises farther away from the anchor point will increase resistance since you will be fighting gravitational forces pulling towards the stable equilibrium point (hanging straight down).
